About me
Rob Jenkins is a retired Professor of English as a Second Language in the United States. During his 27-year tenure, he received various awards including the Best Practice of Model Program Award in 2013 from the Association of Community and Continuing Education in California (ACCE) for the professional development program he developed. He also received the Santa Ana College Distinguished Faculty Award in 2008, was an Orange County Teacher of the Year in 2009 and received the Professional Achievement Award in 2019 from his college. He received with Staci Johnson the 2013 Heinle Outstanding Achievement Award from National Geographic Learning for their contributions to publishing.
Rob is the co-author of the textbook series, Stand Out for National Geographic Learning. This series was a pioneer in a new approach to textbook production in ESL throughout the United States in 2001. Stand Out is in its 4th edition. He is the series editor of other textbook series for National Geographic Learning as well. Rob has given hundreds of non-commercial and commercial presentations and workshops, including many plenaries and keynotes on effective teaching strategies throughout the United States as well as in Peru, Brazil, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic.
